Sunderland Pride has now announced the acts that will feature in the first event of its kind in Sunderland later this year.
Much speculation has been circulating through the city?s scene for the past few months about who would be headlining the event on September 25th but members of the city?s LGBT community were pleased to hear after an excitement filled release through the event?s Facebook group, that Scooch will headline the celebrations with their performance of Scooch Do Glee.
Other acts to perform are I?m So Pink, a Pink tribute act, Bears Aloud, a tribute band to Girls Aloud with a difference and Beauty, a male solo singer used to performing at Pride celebrations across the UK.
The spotlight was also focused on local acts in the region with the announcement of performances from Envy, a male tribute band to numerous different artists and Missing Linx, lead by Kimberley ‘Von’ Brown, Ash Olsen and Liam Olsen from Sunderland will also perform.
A Pride in city has been a key LGBT event missing in recent years but through the hard work and determination of the Sunderland Pride committee the event has finally come together.
There are still opportunities for members in the area to get involved in the momentous event. The team is currently in the process of finding volunteers to be Pride Guides which will involve joining the event?s march through the city, stage hands are also being recruited to help make sure the performances go as they should.
