Atlantic Records and Artist Publishing Group (APG) A R I Z O N A today release the single and music video for “Electric Touch.” Co-written by A R I Z O N A with acclaimed singer-songwriter Julia Michaels (Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez), “Electric Touch” is joined by a touching new companion video. The intensely moving visual stars two women – a true-life young couple from Michigan – who reached out to A R I Z O N A thanking them for their inspirational music. The New Jersey-based alternative trio responded by inviting them to appear in what is now an undeniably emotional, utterly unique companion clip. “Electric Touch” premiered today on GALORE and is streaming now at A R I Z O N A‘s official YouTube channel. Hailee Ritcey, one of the leads in the video, took to social media to tell her story and officially come out for the first time. “For a long time this day has filled me with so much fear and anxiety. I’ve never been really sure what I would say, why I felt like I needed to post, or why it even mattered at all,” says Ritcey. “It’s taken me a long time to come to this level of confidence with myself and with my relationship. I have been so lucky to have wonderful family and friends that have really helped me to this point. And I’ve realized the people that truly love and care about you always will, regardless. So a few months ago Carly and I took a trip to Seattle to see one of our favorite bands. Because their music means so much to us I decided to reach out to them. I knew it was a long shot to even get a response but then they took it one step further. They asked us to tell our story through their music. So this is my girlfriend. And this is A R I Z O N A. Thank you A R I Z O N A for creating this incredible opportunity for us and thank you for your music. So much love!”
Today A R I Z O N A also announced their eagerly awaited debut album GALLERY, which will arrive at last on Friday, May 19th. GALLERY is available for pre-order beginning today at all DSPs, with all orders accompanied by an instant grat download of “Electric Touch.”
These announcements come on the heels of an exciting new milestone for the band, who just achieved over 500,000 track equivalents in U.S. sales and streaming consumption, a massive feat for any artist before releasing a debut album.
“Electric Touch” follows last year’s breakthrough single/video, “Oceans Away,” which has already earned A R I Z O N A more than 65 million streams via Spotify alone. The band made their network TV debut earlier this month with a performance of “Oceans Away” on CBS’ The Chef’s Classic special preceding the hugely rated NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship Game. “Oceans Away” – accompanied by a spectacular Sam Feldt Remix – is available now at all DSPs and streaming services. Lead singer, Zach Hannah, performed the remix alongside Sam Feldt on the main stage at Ultra Music Festival in Miami just this past month.
A R I Z O N A made their Atlantic/APG debut with last summer’s “I Was Wrong,” the original version of which drew Spotify streams now in excess of 75 million. The track’s official companion video – directed by A R I Z O N A – debuted exclusively at NYLON, which declared the clip to be “a sublime, muted package…the brilliance of the song lies within its humble admission of wrongdoing and its gentle delivery. There’s a genuine sense of regret but zero traces of wallowing. The video does a fine job illustrating the highs, lows, and in-betweens of a relationship. It finds strength in its sadness and builds from there.” The clip is streaming now at A R I Z O N A’s official YouTube channel; “I Was Wrong” – and the equally popular “I Was Wrong (Robin Schultz Remix)” – are both available now at all DSPs and streaming services.
Now boasting more than 200 million Spotify streams – with over 9 million monthly subscribers – A R I Z O N A has proven a viral phenomenon little more than a year after releasing their first song. The trio has created major waves with their ingenious brand of contemporary electronic dance pop, a lush merger of sonic and lyrical approaches that span generation and genre to form melodic groove-laden soundscapes like none other. A R I Z O N A first came together in Boston, with their shared interests in production and songwriting uniting them as much as their mutual New Jersey heritage. Songs like “Where I Wanna Be,” “People Crying Every Night,” and “Let Me Touch Your Fire“soon drew millions of multi-platform streams as well as a fervent online following from London to Los Angeles, Stockholm to Singapore. Signed to Atlantic/APG in late 2015, A R I Z O N A have spent much of the time since traversing the country in a old Toyota which they have reconditioned into a state-of-the-art mobile recording studio, immersed in the creation of what is truly an extraordinary and unprecedented debut album.
A R I Z O N A is: Nathan Esquite, David Labuguen, and Zachary Hannah.
