Renowned Fashion designer Marc Jacobs is reportedly in talks to take over as head designer at Dior, following John Galliano’s dismissal.
CBS News has the story:
The fashion world is still speculating on who will succeed John Galliano at Dior, but there’s a new top designer leading the pack of potential replacements.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, and reported by The Cut blog, Marc Jacobs is in “serious” talks to take over Galliano, who was fired in March over an anti-Semitisim scandal, as the new creative head of the French fashion house.
Times Live adds:
Much has been speculated ever since Dior’s creative head John Galliano fell from grace due to an anti-Semitism scandal five months ago, and everyone from Azzedine Alaia to Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci has been named as a potential replacement in the process.
But when respected trade publication Women’s Wear Daily adds water to the rumour mill, it is usually an entirely diffrent story in terms of credibility: Monday’s paper reads that according to an anonymous source, Marc Jacobs is entering negotiations with the house this week.
