Matthew Simmons, an ex- marine from Nevada, took the tittle of Mr. Gay World USA last night. He will represent USA in the competition for the title of Mr Gay World against men from all over the globe. The 1st runner up was Damien Rogers from New York and second runner was awarded to Benn Mendoza from California.

A 25-year-old contestant from Nevada won the title of Mr. Gay World USA 2013 Saturday night in New York City. Matthew Simmons won the beauty pageant at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts after strutting in a black speedo, his Marine Corps Blue Dress uniform, and finally answering a question about what defines a strong man. His answer, someone who can be himself and hold the values of honor, courage and commitment ? the very principles of the Marine Corps, which he proudly served for four years.
Simmons beat out 25 contestants from across the country and will now move forward to represent the United States at the Mr. Gay World competition in Belgium on August 5th.
?I dream to inspire my peers to overcome the tough obstacles in their life and strive to be the best person they can,? said Simmons. ?Never giving up on their dreams and never losing sight of who they are,? he added.
The 5th annual Mr Gay World competition will be included in the 3 pillars of the worldOutgames, and will be held from August 1st ? 5th 2013 in Antwerp, Belgium, with the Grand Finale closing off the first weekend of celebrations of the worldOutgames on Sunday August 4th with a spectacular show.
