Orange County gives gay benefits to partner and children of gay workers.
The Associated Press reports:
Orange County is joining a list of other Florida municipalities that extend same-sex benefits to workers’ partners.
Commissioners of the county that is home to Orlando voted unanimously Monday to offer the workplace benefits to the partners and children of gay employees, just as they do to heterosexual workers.
Those benefits include life, health, dental and bereavement benefits.
Other cities that offer those benefits to same-sex partners are Orlando, Gainesville, Tallahassee, Tampa and Miami-Dade County
