The Nevada state Assembly gave final legislative approval to a bill that would prohibit discrimination in employment on the basis of gender identity and expression.

The Nevada Assembly has given final legislative approval to a bill expanding employment anti-discrimination protections to include gender identity and expression.
Tuesday’s action by the Assembly sends AB211 to Gov. Brian Sandoval.
Backers say 13 other states include transgender discrimination in employment protections. State law already bars discrimination based on race, religion, sexual orientation and other attributes.
Two other transgender bills are still making their way through the Nevada Legislature.
