Lady GaGa Honored By The Trevor Project

Lady Gaga was honored for her commitment and contributions to the LGBT community at The Trevor Project’s 2011 Trevor Live event at The Hollywood Palladium Sunday.

The Trevor Hero Award honors Lady Gaga for being an inspiration to youth and increasing visibility and understanding of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) community. As an ally for LGBTQ people, Lady Gaga has recently founded the Born This Way Foundation to bravely empower youth to be proud of who they are, to accept and embrace one another?s humanity, and to love themselves and one another.

Lady Gaga said; “This means more to me than any Grammy I could ever win.” The award was presented by the family of Jamey Rodemeyer. A 14-year-old Buffalo, NY freshman who committed suicide 11 weeks ago.

Neil Patrick Harris, Mary J. Blige and Miley Cyrus were just a few of the performers at Sunday?s event, which was also attended by Josh Duhamel, Fergie, Zachary Quinto and members of the ?Glee? cast.
