British Out Equestrian Lee Pearson Earns Paralympic Medals

Equestrian Lee Pearson of Great Britain is the first out Paralympian to medal at the 2012 London Games.

The Telegraph reports:

Pearson, 38, has already won nine gold medals from three games and is homing in on the British record held by track athlete Tanni Grey-Thompson and swimmer David Roberts. To overtake them during London 2012 he needs to win the first of his three possible gold medals on Saturday.

He was top of his category (Grade 1b) in the team section on Thursday but will be hoping for a little more help from his mount Gentleman ? and the weather ? this time.

?Everyone wants to win,? he said, ?but if I?m beaten I will very genuinely be pleased for whoever beats me. I?d be happy with silver, bronze or even fourth.?

That maybe his take on it but it would be a genuine shock were he not to collect his 10th gold medal.
