*Climbing From #6 to #3 This Week
**Adding a New Remix By Legendary NYC DJ Tony “Soulbeats” Smith
“Say Yes”, the latest hit dance track by two-time Grammy nominated producer Tony Moran and Out Music Award winner Jason Walker continues its ascent to #1 on the Billboard Dance chart. It jumps three points this week from #6 to #3. Written by Tony Moran and Mike Greenly, the hard-pounding single has been propelled by Walker’s awe-inspiring vocal performance and a superstar collection of remixes that now includes a new version by legendary New York DJ Tony “Soulbeats” Smith and his production partner, Mike Lorello (Soundcloud link: https://soundcloud.com/user-729222983/tony-moran-feat-jason-walker-say-yes-tony-soulbeats-and-mike-lorello-remix-1).
“Say Yes” debuted October 14, accompanied by a pulsating music video by Karl Giant. Since then, the song has become a staple on dance floors nationwide and has been added to several key radio stations around the country. These include Long Island’s WPTY-FM (Party 107), Seattle’s KNHC-FM and Chicago’s WCPY-FM. “Say Yes” and its remixes are available now on iTunes via http://www.mrtanmanmusic.com.
“We’re thrilled with the reception the song has received in clubs and on dance radio,” says an enthusiastic Jason Walker from his New York City home. “Hats off to Tony Moran and all the amazing remixers (Moto Blanco, Dave Audé, Deep Influence, Victor Dinaire, Bissen, Todd Terry, Toy Armada, DJ GRIND, Mauro Mozart, Gustavo Scorpio, Alex Acosta, Tommer Mizrahi, Brian Cua, Dirty Disco, DJ STROBE, Chris “C-Rod” Rodriguez and DJ HEAD) who added their talent to the record, re-working it for all the world’s varying dance floors. I’m so excited to add DJ Tony ‘Soulbeats’ Smith’s version to the mix. I think it might be the kick that takes us all the way up to #1!”
“Say Yes” is the third collaboration between DJ Tony Moran and Jason Walker. Their two previous singles, “Set It Free” and this summer’s “So Happy”, both reached #1 on Billboard.
“Even before ‘So Happy’ hit the top spot, I knew I wanted Jason on the ‘Say Yes’ project,” says Moran, a global DJ and chart-topping dance producer whose list of #1 dance singles includes Kristine W’s “Walk Away” and Martha Wash’s “Keep Your Body Working” and “Free People”. He has also remixed tribal house anthems for some of pop’s biggest artists including Beyoncé, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and Madonna. “Jason has a magical voice that exudes power. He’s an incredible talent and someone that I truly believe represents the future of dance music.”
Jason Walker grew up in Pittsburgh, singing in church choirs and then in local R&B and Blues bands. He first shined on the national spotlight with a winning performance on TV’s “It’s Show Time at the Apollo”.
He recorded two albums, “This Is My Life” and “Flexible”, with dance music icon Junior Vasquez. He earned three Top 10 Billboard hits (“My Life”, “No More”, and “Movin’ On”), two Billboard #1s (“Foolish Mind Games” and “Set It Free”) and 2 IDMA (International Dance Music Award) nominations including one for Best Breakthrough Dance Artist.
In 2010, Walker set out on his own, releasing his third full-length album independently and landing his seventh Top 20 Billboard Dance hit. His eighth release, “Raise Your Hands”, climbed to #17 on the Billboard charts. He followed with “Beat Don’t Stop” (a song that peaked at #5 on Billboard), “Tell It To My Heart” (an explosive re-imagining of Taylor Dayne’s pop classic, produced by Bimbo Jones, that hit #10 on Billboard) and last summer’s “So Happy” (his third Billboard #1).
