British gay pop star George Michael is to perform at the Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games on Sunday (12 August). The ‘White Light’ singer Tweeted the news to his fans:
Also rumoured to be performing alongside George are Take That, The Who, One Direction and The Spice Girls. Ed Sheeran has also confirmed his appearance, possibly singing Pink Floyd’s classic Wish You Were Here.
