Human Rights Campaign App And T-Shirts To Celebrate National Coming Out Day

The human rights campaign has released new initiatives to to celebrate National coming out day; a new Facebook app and a t- shirt collaboration with pop singer Ke$ha.

Whether you’re lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or a straight ally, be proud of who you are and your support for LGBT equality this Coming Out Day!

Use HRC’s Coming Out for Equality Facebook app to show your support and spread a message of equality to your friends and family. It’s the courage to come out as an active voice for LGBT equality that will result in real political and social change.

New ways to come out for equality will be added each week leading up to October 11.

About the App

Once you add the app, select one of the “Actions to Take” to get started! After completing each action, be sure to claim your equality (EQ) badge and encourage others to get involved by sharing your badge on Facebook, inviting your friends and family to take action and tweeting with the #comingout hashtag.

HRC has also unveiled a new T-Shirt Collaboration with pop singer Ke$ha:

Pop star Ke$ha is all about celebrating individuality. She tells her fans to be themselves and to be proud of the “quirks” that make them unique.

Now, you can help Ke$ha share – and wear – this message. Today, HRC unveiled a collaboration with Ke$ha to encourage everyone to celebrate their inner superstar and come out for equality. The collaboration comes just in time for National Coming Out Day, which is celebrated globally on Oct. 11 and encourages LGBT people and their supporters to be visible by living open and honest lives.

As part of the Musicians for Equality series, the “We R Who We R” unisex T-shirt – named in honor of Ke$ha’s smash hit by the same name – features a purple zebra, the inspiring words, “We R Who We R,” along with HRC’s equality logo and Ke$ha’s signature on the front.

Only 1,000 T-shirts will be produced. To buy the shirt, visit shop.hrc.org.
