MULTI-‐PLATINUM RECORDING ARTIST JOJO PERFORMS LIVE IN NEW YORK AT PLAYERS THE EVENT
New York, NYC: Multi-‐platinum recording artist JoJo will be the headlining performer at PLAYERS THE EVENT Saturday, October 8, it was announced today. Produced by Patrick Crough and Jake Resnicow, the dynamite party duo behind the popular Matinée festivals, PLAYERS THE EVENT will celebrate the release of Rick Day’s new photo art book, “Players 2”. The exclusive, VIP-‐only dance party will take place at Good Units (356 West 58th Street, NYC) with music by Anthony Batista and Billy Lace. A bevy of the male models photographed in the book will also be on hand. The games begin promptly at 10pm.
“We are thrilled that JoJo will be performing live at PLAYERS,” said Jake Resnicow from the New York offices of Matinée. At the age of 13, JoJo became the youngest person ever to have a #1 hit song. Now, she’s back producing hits with Timbaland and Drake, among others. JoJo will perform her hit single, “Too Little, Too Late” as well as numbers from her Jumping Trains album.
“PLAYERS THE EVENT will have all the wow factors our fans have come to expect,” continued Mr. Resnicow.
“Testosterone levels will be off the charts with all the gorgeous male models and celebrities filling the room,” added Patrick Crough.
Patrick Crough and Jake Resnicow pride themselves on elevating the gay party experience. As the US producers of the Matinée party brand, their events don’t simply pump dance music. These provocateur architects re-‐imagine venues and craft elaborate atmospheres.
Past events at Matinée Las Vegas Festival, Miami’s Winter Party Festival, and Labor Day’s Matinée NYC Festival have featured Cirque du Soleil aerialists, high-‐tech staging, incredible couture gogo outfits, lasers and LED walls, and stunning crowds. They regularly surprise fans with celebrity appearances. Pop star Natasha Beddingfield took the stage for an impromptu performance at Las Vegas Festival.
“Part of our mission is to show people that our parties are all about creativity,” explained Crough. “Our events have been called feasts for the senses that inspire awe and wonderment.”
“That is why we’re thrilled to team up with Rick,” said Resnicow. “Similar to our parties, Rick Day’s images capture the imaginations of gay men.”
Resnicow and Crough chose Good Units for PLAYERS THE EVENT because the 6,000-‐square-‐feet space in the Hudson Hotel basement used to be a YMCA gymnasium, fitting the theme. Also, Refinery29, a New York Fashion magazine, named Good Units the best and most exclusive NYC party spot. Celebrities from Lady Gaga to Jeremy Scott have recently hosted events at the venue.
“No one has ever done a party like this before,” said Crough. “It’s ironic we are launching PLAYERS THE EVENT over Columbus Day Weekend, a weekend that honors new discoveries.”
“I guess you can call Jake and me pioneers.”
