In 2006 Brad Pitt declared that he and Angelina Jolie wouldn’t tie the knot until all Americans had the equal right to do so. The couple is waiting anymore, after seven years and six kids, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are finally engaged. LGBT advocacy groups publicly expressed their support for the union.
Rebekah Orr, Communications Director for Equality California, told E NEWS that the group is totally behind the Brangelina marriage,
“Marriage says ‘we are a family’ in a way that no other word can. It appears that even Brad and Angelina’s children understand the meaning of that special vow,” Orr said. “We would never want any committed couple to deny themselves and their families the happiness and security that marriage brings.”
GLAAD spokesman Rich Ferraro told the Ministry in an email:
“We congratulate them on their engagement and thank them for continuing to speak out about the inequality that so many gay and lesbian couples face today,”
“No loving and committed couple should be denied the happiness, joy, and legal protections that come with marriage.”
