John Barrowman is going to receive an honorary degree. The openly gay actor will be made an honorary Doctor of Drama at Glasgow’s Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD) in the summer. Now he will be known as Dr. John Barrowman.

The Doctor Who and Torchwood star will receive a Doctor of Drama at the academy’s graduation ceremony in July.
The same honour will go to actor, writer and producer David MacLennan, who was behind the Lunchtime Theatre concept, A Play, A Pie and a Pint.
Scots singer Moira Anderson and soprano Judith Howarth will also be honoured with a Doctor of Music.
The ceremonies will take place in the RSAMD in Glasgow on 5 July
