Following the release of their first official single, “Control,” the Hollywood filmed video for which premiered on MTV’s Buzzworthy, LA based duo HE MET HER are due to release their debut EP Crime Novela in the US on 24th Of July. The EP debuted this week at #28 on CMJ’s RPM/Electronic based chart. In the meantime, they’ve made their first Mixtape, Le Dungeon available for free download here: http://hemethermusic.com/ledungeon
With the gusto, energy and experimentalism typical of twenty somethings, the male/female pairing Rocky Chance (Her) and Mowgli Moon(He) have proved to be quite the online sensation, with the release of their buzz track “Tropical Trident” from the Le Dungeon met with markedly positive sentiments.
Describing their music as “retro-electro with a twist of sex”, the alluring duo feed on a kaleidoscope of music styles, from electronic pop to Southern hip hop and bassline.
The pair have been building their quirky craft, characterized visually by their original style and unique fashion sense. Their dazzling look has been such a hit, HE MET HER have already been shot exclusively by world famous photographer Rankin.
Their upcoming Crime Novela EP with Production by Simon Katz (from Iglu & Hartly, Youngblood Hawke), Jesse Rogg (Sam Sparro, Mike Posner) and Brian West (Nelly Furtado, Esther) reflects their musical eclecticism, mixing sounds and blurring conventions, He Met Her even range from Disco to dub taking listeners on a narrative journey with each song.
