Ian Buchanan Joins Old Dogs & New Tricks Season 2‏

May 21, 2012 – West Hollywood, CA – Veteran actor Ian Buchanan will join the cast of the award-winning web sitcom Old Dogs & New Tricks for its second season as a recurring special guest star.

A familiar face to TV and film audiences, Buchanan has been a regular on the soap operas Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, Bold and the Beautiful, was a regular on the prime-time series Twin Peaks, and has guest-starred on scores of television shows, including Alias, Charmed, Nip/Tuck, NYPD Blue, The Nanny, Quantum Leap, The Larry Sanders Show and Columbo.  His screen credits include the Jodie Foster thriller Panic Room.

Buchanan will appear in the second half of Season 2 as “Christoph,” a successful photographer who becomes an age-appropriate romantic alternative for one of the “Old Dogs.”

“I’m excited to be joining the cast of Old Dogs,” said Buchanan. “It will be another new adventure!”

Old Dogs & New Tricks follows four middle-aged gay best friends living in youth-obsessed West Hollywood.  Leon Acord, David Pevsner, Jeffrey Patrick Olson and Curt Bonnem star as the four friends; cabaret star Amanda Abel and Ryland Shelton co-star.  Doug Spearman (Noah’s Arc) is also joins the cast in Season 2; Thom Bierdz and Bruce L. Hart return from Season 1.

“Although Ian is mostly known for drama, his guest appearances on sitcoms have shown a wonderful sense of humor and timing,” says Acord.  “He’ll be able to combine elements of drama and comedy in his role.  I can’t wait to see what he does with his character!”

Written/created by Acord, and developed for the web and directed by Arvin Bautista, Old Dogs’ first season was honored as Outstanding Dramedy Program and Outstanding Ensemble Cast in a Dramedy at the 2012 LA Web Fest.
