MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts has become the first cable news anchor to marry a person of the same sex. Roberts and his longtime partner Patrick Abner exchanged vows over the weekend in a ceremony officiated by California Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom on the rooftop of the Gansevoort Park Avenue hotel in NYC. The couple have been together for of 12 year.
Among the guests were: MSNBC president Phil Griffin, executive editor Yvette Miley, VP Elena Nachmanoff and anchors Tamron Hall and Chris Jansing. Also CNN anchors: Don Lemon, Sara Sidner, Holly Firfer and Asieh Namdar. Other guests included “Good Morning America”‘s Sam Champion, former talk show host Nate Berkus, reality host Carson Kressley, former MSNBC anchor Contessa Brewer and Roberts’ agent, Rick Ramage.
