Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment company will produce the big-screen adaptation of “The Normal Heart” Based on Larry Kramer’s semi-autobiographical play. The film will be directed by “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy and it will have Mark Ruffalo in the lead role.
Ryan Murphy, creator and director of the hit Fox series “Glee,” will direct the film version of Larry Kramer’s Tony-winning The Normal Heart, which recently concluded its critically acclaimed Broadway debut run.
Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment will produce the film along with director Murphy.
Mark Ruffalo will play Ned Weeks, the hero of the drama about fear in the early days of the AIDS crisis. Tony winner Joe Mantello played that part in the recent Broadway production.
