QUEER ME UP is created and written by: Gus.

If you see me walking in the gaybourhood, having some drinks with friends at the pub, shopping at the gay book store, dancing at the gay club, or just in line to get my cd autographed by Lady GaGa, you’ll never guess I am the guy writing on this website. Why? Because I am just like any other gay, I am a conventional average gay guy!

My friends call me Gus! It’s easy to pronounce and it sounds so butch! Which I think is funny. My story is the same old outsider story; gay guy in a small town, I did not fit in, I felt like I did not belong, Surrounded by ignorance, intolerance and a homophobic society. I spend the days locked in my room dancing to Kylie’s new song, living in my own world. I was your regular Daffyd Thomas from the British TV series “Little Britain”. I can’t recall how many times I thought “I was the only gay in the village”.

But then I had the opportunity to travel around the world, to visit places where being gay is not a big issue, to meet interesting and exciting people, to experience new cultures and I realized I was not alone, there are a lot of people like me out there. One thing I noticed is that my fellow gay friends have a lot of things in common; all of them share the same encouraging attitude for love, life, and optimism.

My journey opened my eyes to what now I know as gay culture, I became obsessed with gay books, gay music, gay history, gay cinema, gay parties and of course gay sex. I am constantly learning about the meaning of gayness and what it involves. That is what inspired me to create QUEER ME UP. Now I am a gay blogger and I have no idea how to do it. The same thing happened to me the first time I had sex and that turn out to be ok. So I guess I just will have to lube up, relax and take it. The rest will come easy.
I am a very curious and analytic guy, I have this bizarre tendency to think and rethink every single episode of my life, like some kind of carry Bradshaw on crack. Gays are my endless source of material. I am in constant search for information at all times. I am listening closely to every gay individual around to get new ideas. I am very interested in what other gay’s views and opinions are. I like to think of myself as an anthropologist that studies the gay species. Yes, indeed, I guess I would be considered an excellent subject for a psychological case study. But in the end, aren’t we all?

My native language is not English and you may notice it in my writing, I still have a cute broken English. I struggle with a dose of Spanish, Italian and French mixed in my head fighting with my limited English. But I am trying desperately to improve it; I apologize in advance for the inconvenience of my non coherent sentences and my lack of grammatical skills. I decided to write in English because it is the worldwide language. I want to reach as many people as possible.

On a more personal level, I am in my thirties, some college education, good looking, bubble butt hungry bottom, (in case you were wondering) and I’m very much happily engaged to the man of my dreams!!!
